Our Services
We Can Help You Avoid Illnesses, Increase Productivity, & Reduce Liability:

We provide indoor air quality testing (IAQ testing) for any environment where cleanliness and good health are priorities. Schools, day care centers, office buildings, hospitals, elderly care facilities, and municipal buildings will all benefit from IAQ testing and management planning. Effective IAQ planning equals less time lost to sick days, greater productivity, and reduced liability. Indoor air quality testing and management plans can help reduce Nosocomial illness (illnesses contracted in the hospital, like staff infections, etc.).

Indoor Testing:

Mold
While unfamiliar to many, mold can produces mycotoxins, which have been associated with numerous health problems, including asthma. We will test your air to determine if the mold that is present represents a typical fungal ecology for that environment. If we determine mold amplification exists, our remediation plans are designed to eradicate the problem and return the area to healthy living conditions. We use state-of-the-art technology, including Mold Specific Quantitative Polymerase Chain Reaction (MSQPCR) for determining species when needed. Sample analysis is only conducted by the top laboratories in the country, those maintaining the prestigious American Industrial Hygiene Association (AIHA) Environmental Microbiological Laboratory Analytical Proficiency (EMLAP) designation.

Radon
Radon gas is an odorless, colorless, radioactive gas. It seeps into your home, school, or facility from the ground. According to EPA, the decay elements from this gas are the number one cause of lung cancer in non-smokers. Radon testing is provided by NEHA certified technicians utilizing the most accurate short term sampling and analytical devices.

Energy Inspections
Energy inspections known as the Home Energy Tune-Up represent a service that has more and more appeal as energy costs skyrocket. Our energy inspections will show you how to save potentially thousands of dollars per year in energy cost. The reports are inexpensive and delivered online within 24 hours of the inspection.

Allergen Screening
With asthma and allergies reaching epidemic proportions, our allergen screening service will help everyone breathe easier. Reducing allergens in schools, hospitals, and home can reduce sick days and liability while enhancing productivity. Every allergen screening includes an action plan. Don't just medicate the symptoms, identify and eliminate the cause.

Neighborhood Environmental Reports (NER)
Ever wonder what's below the ground in your neighborhood ?or backyard that might seep into your home? NERs are an abridged Phase 1 Environmental Assessments designed for residential properties. These reports are written by trained environmental professionals with access to the largest US environmental database in the world.

VOC (Volatile Organic Compounds)
Gases like methane, formaldehyde, toluene and other commonly used organic compounds can be very poisonous as day off gas (vaporize). We verify that your location meets NIOSH, OSHA, EPA, and all other environmentally focused guidelines and standards.

Arsenic in Treated Lumber
There are an estimated 70 million structures at homes and schools constructed of lumber treated with the arsenic compound CCA. While fantastic at standing up against harsh conditions and insects, pressure treated lumber can contain unhealthy levels of arsenic. Contact American Indoor Air Quality Assessment Services, Ltd., to schedule an appointment to determine if your children are playing on pressure treated decks or play structures containing dangerous levels of arsenic.

Bacteria
Antibacterial soap can only help so much. Airborne bacteria such as Legeonela, MRSA (Staphylococcus bacteria), and others affect thousands of children and elderly each year. Children and the elderly are the most susceptible to bacterial induced illnesses. Protect your family with early detection and action.

Consulting and Expert Witness Service
If you are contemplating litigation or are a party to litigation involving contaminated property; we can provide consulting to help you Better understand the merits. We are typically able pinpoint the source of contamination, its effects, andthe cost to cure. Utilizing FX Finigan's revolutionary copyrighted appraisal techniques the loss in value associated with stigma can also be addressed. Contact us to speak with an expert about your case.

Lead Paint Testing and Lead Risk Assessment
Lead based paint can be very hazardous to children under the age of six and pregnant women, when disturbed. Using x-ray fluorescence technology we can provide accurate results almost instantly. Our company is in EPA accredited training provider teaching contractors to use lead safe work practices and certifying them in accordance with federal regulations. If you plan on renovating repairing or painting a property that was constructed before 1978 have lead inspection done.

Asbestos Testing and Asbestos Management Plans for Schools
Did you know that under federal law NESHAP (National Omission Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants) any renovation or demolition of a commercial building that disturbs hundred and 60 linear feet or 260 ft.² or greater requires an asbestos survey. The fines for noncompliance can be very significant. Many schools throughout New England are not in compliance with the federal requirement to have an asbestos management plan updated every three years putting our children at risk. We offer preconstruction asbestos surveys and asbestos management plans.

ICRA (Infectious Disease Control Risk Assessment)
JCAHO (Joint Commission on the Accreditation of Health Organizations) sets standards for the healthcare industry and issues accreditation to organizations that meet those standards. These standards provide guidelines that the facilities can take to encourage environmental performance improvements. A comprehensive embargo program, including waste minimization and pollution prevention initiatives, can not only ensure compliance, but can also help reduce costs of compliance. Prior to construction, remediation, or renovation healthcare facilities should conduct an infectious disease control risk assessment and engage a plan to prophylactically address nosocomial infections.

Professional Training and Seminars Including Continuing Education
For more than 20 years our educational director, Francis Xavier Rich Finigan, has taught accredited seminars to thousands of real estate appraisers, sales professionals, building inspectors, and environmental experts throughout the US.
